Yes, even the dictionary definition includes an example telling us that we should be striving to keep a balance (or equal parts) between work and relaxation – or life.

It’s a really good listen. And I think it’s important to get to know the person that you’re going to be listening to, for the next 30 to 45 minutes.
Today I kind of want to talk about the flip side of that. So I want to talk about why I started this podcast why I named the podcast The Balance Podcast, why I’m sitting here cross legged in my closet, during my second trimester of pregnancy, struggling with sciatica, talking to an empty room about this elusive word that we hear all the time in the online and physical space, balance, what is balance and isn’t even possible as humans and as women to achieve perfect balance?
I want to give you a spoiler. If you don’t like spoilers, I’m sorry. But I’m going to ruin the ending for you because the answer’s no. It’s not possible as women to achieve or as humans period to achieve the perfect balance. The dictionary definition of the word balance reads a condition in which different elements are equal, or in the correct portions. And I’m not opposed to the correct portions part but equal. That’s right.
That’s kind of where I get an issue. And then also their verbatim example of this word being used in a sentence is to try to keep a balance between work and relaxation. Y’all even the freakin dictionary definition includes an example telling us that we should be striving to keep a balance or equal parts between work and relaxation slash life and my heart for women in my life, and in this space.

My heart for you is to get to watch you leave the hustle behind, and holistically live out what God has for you, with grace with a grace based approach to balancing your life in your business, which sounds like a mouthful. But just think about that. I want you to be able to leave behind the hustle and holistically live out what God has for you with grace towards yourself, guys. And if you haven’t already listed in the first episode, I talk about my own testimony with hustle and with burnout.
And with God really teaching me the hard way because I wouldn’t listen the easy way, how to give myself grace, when balancing life in business because for years of my business, I have fallen prey to this never ending tug deep inside of me that I’m just not doing enough by worldly standards, that if I’m not giving 100% to growing and scaling my business, while also giving 100% to my marriage and investing in my family, while also simultaneously giving 100% to relationships to my church to my household responsibility, that my life isn’t unbalanced because that’s what the world tells us right that you need perfect work life balance or to practice work life balance… continue the episode above.”
